Guided Tour

Your group will receive a docent-led guided tour of the Indianapolis Art Center building (includes studios), contemporary exhibitions or ARTSPARK (weather permitting. April-September)

Your group will receive a docent-led guided tour of building, exhibitions, or ARTSPARK. Choose a demonstration in glassblowing, ceramics, printmaking, or painting.

Hands-on Activities

Includes a 30-45 minute guided tour of building, exhibitions or ARTSPARK. Each activity is led by a professional working artist.

Portrait Drawing

Learn the basics to draw your self-portrait. Learn the proportions and structure of the head and face. Each person will use a mirror to draw their portrait and take home their finished drawing.
Ages 6 and up | 1 hour activity | $10.50 per person (minimum of $105)

Impressionist Painting

Learn about the history of Impressionist painting and the master artists who made it famous. Each person will create their own impressionist masterpiece. Students will use acrylic paints.
Ages 12 and up | 1 hour activity | $12.50 (minimum of $125)

Portrait Painting

Learn the basics to paint your self-portrait. Learn the proportions and structure of the head and face. Each person will use a mirror to paint their portrait and take home their finished painting. Students will use acrylic paints.
Ages 6 and up | 1.5 hour activity | $14 per person ($140 minimum)

Collage Books

Create your own book using an assortment of collage materials. This activity helps the younger children with their hand eye coordination and allows them to express their creativity.
Preschool, kindergarten and first grade. |45 minute activity |$10 per person (minimum $100)

Collage Painting

Create your own collage about you using magazines, paint, markers and pencils.
Ages 6 and up |1 hour activity |$12 per person ($120 minimum)

Mixed Media Sculpture

Make your own miniature sculpture out of different colored wire and beads.
Ages 12 and up | 1.5 hour activity | $15 per person ($150 minimum)

Glassblowing

Ages 10 and up. Must be at least 56 inches in height in order to use the equipment necessary to participate in the activity. Wear cotton shirt and pants. Please bring your own sunglasses. Items made cannot be taken the day of the activity. All pieces must be picked up by group leader after given date. We can also ship for an additional cost.

Paperweight Activity

Each person will make a paperweight using different colors and shapes.
2 hour activity | Minimum of 10 people. Maximum of 12 people. | $28 per person ($280 minimum)

Ceramics/Pottery

Ages 4 and up. Items cannot be taken the day of the activity. All pieces must be picked up by group leader after given date. All pieces will be fired, glazed and fired again by instructor. We can ship for an additional cost. 2 hour minimum.

Please wear clothes that can get dirty.

Hand building

Learn the basics of hand building; how to make a coil or slab piece.
Minimum of 10 people. Maximum of 12 people. | At least 1.5 hour activity
$25 per person | Masks, Tiles, Plates, or Mugs

Wheel throwing

Learn the basics of wheel throwing. Must have prior clay experience.
At least 1.5 hour activity | $28 per person (minimum of $280)

Beaded Jewelry

Each person will create their own beaded jewelry bracelet. A perfect activity for Girl Scout Troops.
Ages 6 and up | 2 hour activity | $18-$25 per person

Metalsmithing

Learn the basics of jewelry making. Create a pair of earrings during this activity.
Ages 12 and up | 2 hour activity | $25 per person ($250 minimum)

Fiber Arts: Silk Scarf Dyeing

Create a beautiful dyed silk scarf
Ages 12 and up | $30 per person. (Minimum of 12 people, or $360. Maximum of 15 people)
