Use the oldest tools known to humans - your hands - to create vessels, art objects and sculptures! Get handy with the timeless techniques - pinching, coiling and slab building - and enjoy time creating with clay! The Indianapolis Art Center is excited to coordinate with you the firing and glazing of your work! Your instructor will work with you to coordinate firing your work, all of which will be done with limited person-to-person contact. Trompe L'Oeil Ceramics

 

Many contemporary ceramic artists attempt to “fool the eye” by creating objects that are so believable is hard to tell they are made with clay. In this 4-week class you will use your hand-building skills to make work that is trompe l’oeil. You will learn to focus on the detail of form and surface to make your piece as true to life as possible.
